Camp Patches For Daniel Webster Council -

Misc. and Short Term Camps

The Council currently operates three additional facilities—Pierre Hoge in Walpole, Camp Whipporwill in Merrimack, and the Unity Program Center in Unity. None are or have been summer camps.

Camp Clarada

Camp Clarada in Ellsworth NH was a short term camping 35 acre facility that the Council was gifted in 1970 by Mrs. Irene Landers in memory of her father, Moores Weed. This camp was used for short term camping activities. The Council donated the property to the NH Fish and Game in 1988. Three different camp patches have been issued over the years.

Camp Whipporwill

Prior to 1996 it had been gifted to the Merrimack, NH scouts for their use and became part of the council properties in 1996. The camp is on a flood plain adjacent to the Souhegan River and is used primarily for short term camping by local scout units.

Unity Program Center

This land was gifted to the Council in 1996.

Hoge Reservation

Pierre Hoge bequested to the Daniel Webster Council approximately 300 acres of land and buildings (including an old feldspar mine) in 1971. The property has been used by the local troops and packs and also hosts camporees and other district events. The Hoge quarry is also a great resource for Boy Scouts and Cub scouts to learn aspects of the geology of New Hampshire and to help fulfill requirements for Geologist Pins and Geology Merit Badges
