   Indiana Jones
Indiana Jones hates snakes, but in 1957, the actor Harrison "Harry" Ford served on the nature staff at Boy Scout Camp Napowan of the Northwest Suburban Council in Wild Rose, Wisconsin. He taught Reptile Study! What rank did Harry Ford and Henry "Indiana" Jones reach in Scouting?
Tues 6/3,Troop Meeting
Planning for Saturday's canoe trip will be part of the next troop meeting. Canoe Trip Permission slips are due.
We have 3 patrols with 5 scouts each going to Camp Bell summer camp on July 20-26. They are the following:
  Corporals, PL Devin
  Killer Whales, PL Mike C.
  Screaming Eagles, PL Kevin

Each patrol could use another scout or two. Talk to PL of the patrol that interests you or to Scott or Mr. Yost.
<--Look what the June Boys' Life is about? Any Hike Reports from T19?
Patrols, please note, just weeks remain for the point system and qualification for the National Honor Patrol before the June Court of Honor. Where do you stand? Have you held patrol meetings, outdoor activities, and completed service projects?
There will also be a Troop Committee meeting that evening at 7:10pm for adults. On the agenda are June canoe trip, summer activities, June Court of Honor, and next high adventure trip.

Saco Canoe Trip June 7-8
Over two dozen scouts and parents attended canoe practice last Tuesday at Mine Falls. Though rain threatened earlier, it was a great evening for canoeing - cool with a good breeze to keep the bugs away. Mr. Sewell and Ms. Ritchie provided safety instruction on land and Messrs. Wiik and Wiik provided instruction on the water. Mr. Paulsen and Mr. Whitten setup a canoe practice course with bouys.
At the next troop meeting, scouts need to turn in signed permission slips and plan overnighter - menu and gear.
We will put canoes in at Swan Falls (near Conway,NH see map below) and paddle about 15 winding miles downriver to our campsite for an overnight campout. Cost $15 each + patrol food cost. Bring a fishing pole, but over 12 years old requires a Maine fishing license, which is confusing as further upriver in NH, June 7 is a free fishing day.
See Permission slip for more info or contact Mr. Popik or Mr. Sewell.
"There's a belief, a folk legend if you will, that photos from a scout event must be forever hidden, less a curse of making copies will fall on the photographer.", commented Dr. Jones.
He continued, "Some say, modern digital technology removed the curse, but more say it made the curse worse. Curse or not, I intend to find those photos held by four hike groups. I have recovered another group's photos, but two more remain to be found. An old Navajo chief told me 'Two men with two sons in scouts'". I could use some scout help here."

Can any scouts help Dr. Jones? Below are some photos recently found.

August 8-10, White Mts. Backpack
for Younger Scouts
Scouts will plan the route, determine campsites. They will make some good decisions and some bad decisions, too. Adult leaders will assure safety and a fair hiking pace.
Most first and second-year scouts will have only done car camping previously, so one or more meetings this summer will see that everyone is appropriately packed, has broken-in hiking boots, and knows what to expect during the trip. Also, because all scouts on the trip will be under 14 and/or not yet First Class, this will not be an “extreme” backpacking trip. Contact Mr. Popik.
Both Harrison Ford and Indiana Jones advanced as far as the Life rank in Scouting.
